FIELD: hydraulic engineering.

SUBSTANCE: fish protection devices for the water intake structure of a pumping station. The fish protection device includes a horizontally located fish-retaining screen, installed with the possibility of rotation in the plane of the inlet of the suction pipe, on an axis fixed at its point furthest from the shore, made of a mesh fabric and a support rim in the shape of a circle, with a diameter of at least two times the diameter of the suction pipe opening. On the upper side of the mesh cloth, outside the area of the inlet of the suction pipe, a washing device is installed, located along the radius of the mesh cloth. A protective visor is installed on the bottom side of the fish-retaining screen. Attached to the lower side of the mesh fabric are racks, between which blades with a teardrop-shaped cross-section profile are installed radially and are designed to rotate relative to an axis passing near the edge of their thickened parts. The free edge of the blade, located in the projection of the opening of the suction pipe, under the influence of the hydrodynamic forces of the suction flow, is raised until it stops against the mesh fabric of the fish protection screen, causing it to rotate. When leaving the zone of the suction flow, the blade, under the influence of its own weight, lowers to a horizontal position, and in the remaining zones, when the fish-retaining screen rotates, it lies, leaning on the limiter installed below. The protective canopy has openings for the passage of blades, made parallel to the plane of the fish-retaining screen.
