SUBSTANCE: method for producing a hydrotreating catalyst carrier, which includes hydration of the thermal activation product of gibbsite in a solution of nitric acid at a suspension pH of 3.5±0.5, washing from sodium and iron impurities, hydrothermal treatment with the addition of ammonium salt to form pseudoboehmite containing ammonium aluminum hydroxycarbonate of composition (NH₄)Al₆(CO₃)₃(OH)₁₄ in an amount of 2-30 wt.%, treatment of the resulting pseudoboehmite with a solution of nitric, or acetic, or phosphoric acid in a ratio of 0.012-0.06 mol acid/mol Al₂O₃, molding, drying and calcination. A hydrotreating catalyst carrier is also proposed.

EFFECT: production of a carrier with improved parameters of the porous system, moisture capacity, and acidic properties of the surface, with the use of which a catalyst with high hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation activity, as well as resistance to deactivation during the hydrotreating of mixed diesel fractions is prepared.
