FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a steel sheet for hot stamping and a method for producing it. The sheet contains: a base steel sheet and a cladding layer deposited on the base steel sheet and having a diffuse layer and a surface layer layered sequentially, wherein the diffuse layer contains a Fe-Al alloy layer and a Fe-Al intermetallic compound layer, which are sequentially arranged on the base steel sheet, each containing silicon, and the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the Fe-Al intermetallic compound layer to the cross-sectional area of the diffuse layer is from 84.5% to 98.0%. A method for producing a steel sheet for hot stamping involves forming a hot-dip cladding layer on the surface of a base steel sheet by immersing the base steel sheet, which is cold-rolled or hot-rolled, into a galvanic bath having a temperature from 650°C up to 700°C; and a step of cooling the resulting cladding layer by cooling the base steel sheet on which the said hot-dip cladding layer is applied, wherein the plating bath contains silicon in an amount of 4 wt.%. up to 12 wt.%, iron in an amount of 1.0 wt.%. to 4.0 wt.%, and the balance is aluminium, and the cooling operation includes the first cooling operation, which is to cool the base steel sheet at the first average to 550°C; and the second cooling operation of cooling the base steel sheet at the second average cooling rate to room temperature, the first average cooling rate being higher than the second average cooling rate.
EFFECT: consists in preventing or reducing occurrence of cracks in the cladding layer during hot stamping.
