FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: n symbols of the received noise-resistant code with reliability estimates of these symbols are supplied to the input of the decoding device. The initial value of the number s=d of least reliable code symbols is set, where d is the minimum code distance of the code, and an attempt is made to orthogonalize the code parity matrix relative to the positions of these s least reliable code symbols. If the orthogonalization attempt is successful, the s number of the least reliable code symbols is increased by 1 and a new attempt is made to orthogonalize the check matrix until orthogonalization is completed. Then return to the previous maximum possible s number of least reliable code symbols, at which orthogonalization is still performed. These s least reliable code symbols are erased, the error-resistant code is decoded with erasure correction, the values of the s least reliable code symbols are calculated through the n-s most reliable symbols, and the code information symbols are restored.

EFFECT: increasing noise immunity and reducing decoding complexity.
