SUBSTANCE: method comprises the following steps: creating, by a first AP in a first MLD AP, a first frame, wherein the first frame indicates BSS critical parameter update information, respectively, corresponding to a plurality of APs in the first MLD AP, and BSS critical parameter update information, respectively corresponding to a plurality of APs in a second MLD AP, wherein the second MLD AP is an MLD AP that owns a non-transmittable AP in a set of multiple Basic Service Set Identifiers (BSSIDs) containing the first AP, and one piece of BSS critical parameter update information corresponding to the AP is used to determine whether the critical BSS parameter in the BSS managed by this AP is updated; and sending, by the first AP in the first MLD AP, a first frame over a communication link on which the first AP operates.

EFFECT: providing notification to stations (STAs) managed by access points (APs) in a multi-link device access point (MLD AP) as to whether critical parameters of the access points' basic service set (BSS) have been updated to assist the STAs in receiving the most recent critical BSS parameter.
