FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: technique for measuring the relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent of materials in a cylindrical volumetric resonator at normal temperature. A device for measuring the parameters of dielectrics at ultrahigh frequencies, including a waveguide input in the form of a microwave waveguide, a resonator with a cylindrical part, limited on one side by the end wall of the microwave waveguide, and on the other by a movable piston. In this case, the resonator cylinder is installed inside the housing with the possibility of axial movement and is equipped with clamps for fixation in the housing, and the piston is secured by a rod to the platform of the axial movement module, combined with a linear movement sensor of the piston. The piston has a diameter equal to the outer diameter of the resonator cylinder.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measurements of the dielectric characteristics of the materials under study by increasing the quality factor of the resonator.
