FIELD: magnetic separation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of magnetic sorting of materials containing magnetic materials and can be used for processing unsorted material in mining, metallurgical, and other industries. The magnetic separator includes a feeder, a rotating drum made of a non-magnetic material, and a magnetic system located inside the drum and including magnets mounted in rows on a base made of a magnetic material, and receivers of separation products. The magnets on the base are installed so that at least in one row they have different orientations of magnetic polarity relative to the base and relative to each other and at least once in the following order: in the magnet of the row, one of the polarities is directed towards the adjacent magnet, in the adjacent magnet, the same polarity is directed in the opposite direction from the base, in the next magnet the same polarity is directed towards the previous magnet, in the next, nearby magnet, the same polarity is directed towards the base.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of sorting of materials containing magnetic materials.
