SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of encoding/decoding for performing a cross-component adaptive contour filtering (CCALF) process. An encoder is proposed that performs a CCALF process for the current block, sets a first flag indicating whether or not the CCALF process is activated for the first block, the first block being adjacent to the left side of the current block, and sets a second flag indicating whether or not the CCALF process is activated for the second block, wherein the second block is adjacent to the top side of the current block and specifies a third flag indicating that the CCALF process is activated for the current block and also specifies the first index associated with the colour component of the current block. Retrieves the second index indicating the context model using the first flag, the second flag, and the first index, and entropy encodes a third flag indicating whether or not the CCALF process is activated for the current block using the context model indicated by the second index.
EFFECT: increase of efficiency of encoding/decoding.
