FIBRE-OPTIC TEMPERATURE SENSOR BASED ON SILICON THERMO-OPTICAL EFFECT Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01K11/32

Abstract RU 2813237 C1

FIELD: measuring technology; namely thermometry.

SUBSTANCE: invention includes using fibre-optic channels, and is intended for use in static electromagnetic devices, such as power transformers, for continuous direct measurement of temperature under voltage. A fibre-optic temperature sensor based on the thermo-optical effect of silicon is proposed, containing an optical fibre and a temperature-sensitive element made of silicon located at the output end of the optical fibre. The temperature-sensitive silicon element is made in form of a plane-parallel silicon plate, behind which, on one side, there is a dielectric mirror, and on the other, a fibre-optic receiving assembly containing from 6 to 15 fibres, and a fibre-optic splitter containing from 2 to 5 fibres, one of which is the control fibre. In this case, all elements are glued together with optical epoxy glue, the radiation source is a laser with a wavelength corresponding to the short-wave absorption edge of silicon from 900 to 1150 nm, operating in a pulsed mode, which is synchronized with a radiation receiver made in the form of a group of photodiodes sensitive to the specified range, wherein the radiation source is connected to the input of the fibre-optic splitter, the output of which is connected to the radiation receiver, to which the output of the fibre-optic receiving assembly is also connected.

EFFECT: proposed sensor eliminates technological shortcomings associated with reliability and availability while maintaining the accuracy of temperature measurement and dielectric properties.
