SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, and can be used to select the tactics of surgical treatment of children with a functionally single ventricle of the heart and hypoplasia of the pulmonary veins. After a previously performed bidirectional cavopulmonary anastomosis, the patient undergoes computed tomography of the thoracic cavity organs (CT TCO) with intravenous contrast. The pulmonary venous index (PVI) is calculated. If PVI is less than 200 mm²/m², then an axillary atrioventricular anastomosis is performed and, after at least 12 months, a CT scan with intravenous contrast is performed again and PVI is counted. If the PVI is greater than 200 mm²/m², an anastomosis is performed between the inferior vena cava and the pulmonary arteries.

EFFECT: method provides the ability to determine the indications for Fontaine surgery to the patient by evaluating PVI.
