METHOD FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF HEART DEFECTS BY OPERATION OF FONTAN AND HOMOGRAFT FOR IMPLEMENTATION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2700127 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to cardiosurgery of congenital and acquired heart diseases. Tubular-shape homograph for Fontan procedure consists of a pulmonary trunk in which one pulmonary artery is separated from bifurcation, one of the leaflets of the semilunar valve is excised. Besides, muscular tissue is subtotally dissected in the area of fibrous ring, at the same time endocardial stripe 3–4 mm wide from the leaflet attachment edge and 3 mm thick is preserved. Proximal end of the dissected branch of the pulmonary artery is sutured to a fibrous ring. Homograft is used to perform a method for surgical management of congenital heart diseases by performing haemodynamic correction by Fontan procedure.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables creating an anastomosis with a pulmonary artery without obstructing blood flow from the superior vena cava, thereby providing laminar blood flow from the hollow veins, in addition reducing the pressure in the inferior vena cava system, increasing the difference between diastolic pressure in the aorta and venous pressure in the lower hollow system vein, reduce post-load on the left ventricle, increase cardiac output and create conditions for improving blood circulation in organs and tissues.
