METHOD FOR INTEGRATED SOIL HYDROMELIORATION WHEN DRAINING AGRICULTURAL LANDS WITH ADJACENT SWAMP AREA Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC E02B11/00

Abstract RU 2813515 C1

FIELD: land reclamation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to integrated reclamation of the agricultural lands adjacent to wetlands subject to long-term flooding. The method of integrated hydro-reclamation of soil during drainage of agricultural land in conditions with adjacent swamp area 1 is to determine the boundary of the long-term backwater of the contour of area of agricultural land 2 from the lower part of the slope. Within this boundary, using known earth-moving mechanisms, channel 4 is laid with a zero slope with infiltration water passing through the soil thickness in the form of a depression curve towards rectangular trench 6, the bottom of which is located below the bottom of channel 4. Trench 6 with filtering vertical walls of soil on the side of the lower filtration level within its bottom is covered on the inside with filter material made of geotextile, one edge of which is bent upward along the height of the wall of trench 6 and fixed with a cable on the bank of the trench, while the lower ends of the geotextile are freely directed towards the bottom of trench 6. Monitoring wells 3 are located on the drained field. To prevent contamination of groundwater and drainage waters, a plant cover of perennial grasses, for example, Sylvia pierfifolia 10, and/or shrubs are planted near the trench with the rectangular cross-section. Storage trench 6 is located at the bottom of the slope, i.e. higher, towards the base bordering the agricultural land, and is divided by the sloped side walls of channel 4 from swamp 1 with a bulk dam, and trench 6 with a vertical side wall is equipped with a filter material made of geotextile 8, the upper end of which is fixed to the shore with a cable. The drainage flow enters accumulating non-gradient channel 4, then trench 6 in the form of a decrease in the depression curve through the soil thickness, which reduces the filtration coefficient of each subsequent layer, while the filtration coefficient of the soil layer is no more than 1 m/day.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of using and maintaining the balance of the drainage basin of agricultural land in the lower part of the slope, at the border of the swamp area, reduced scope of construction work, and improved environmental situation.
