FIELD: mechanical engineering; foundry industries; powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device for barrel grinding contains a gear motor and an associated drum with trunnions, is made on the basis of a five-link spatial hinge-lever mechanism with rotational pairs, and is equipped with an input crank rigidly fixed to the shaft of the gear motor. The said drum is pivotally mounted on a spatial balancer and a connecting rod pivotally connected to the input crank, under the condition that the geometric axes of the drum axles and the axes of the input crank hinges intersect at equal angles, and the shortest distance between the geometric axes of the drum axles is equal to the shortest distance between the axes of the input crank. The geometric axes of the connecting rod are parallel, and the shortest distance between them is equal to twice the shortest distance between the geometric axes of the balancer hinges. The crossing angles of the geometric axes of the balancer hinges and the crossing angle of the rotation axes of the balancer and the input crank complement each other up to 180°. A relationship is given that connects the indicated angles and distances.
EFFECT: intensification of the mixing process is ensured.
