FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical current sources, in particular to an electrochemical cell for determining the specific capacity of the electrode material for lithium-ion batteries. The cell body is vacuumed, the test electrode and two auxiliary electrodes comprise current collectors welded to the corresponding current leads insulated with a three-layer sulfonated rubber film, electrodes are pressed with a force of 5-6 MPa in the poured state, and on the outer part of the polymer body there is a pressing device consisting of upper and lower fixing plates, two auxiliary electrodes have an area of 5-5.5 cm2, which exceeds the theoretical capacity of the area of the electrode under study, whereas the reference electrode made in the form of a silver wire is located at the end of the electrode under study and is separated from it by a separator, which eliminates the influence of changes in the macrostructure of the electrode under study on the capacitive characteristics. The proposed cell design ensures uniform distribution of the electrode process over the surface and volume of the electrode under study, as well as eliminating the influence of changes in the macrostructure of the electrode under study on its discharge capacity.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of determining the capacitive characteristics of the electrode material under study, due to the independent determination of the potential of the electrode under study.
