FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: disk drive contains a rotor equipped with contact rails installed in sliding guides, and magnetic circuits with inductance coils. The rotor is made of a disk, and the magnetic circuits with inductance coils face their opposite poles to the bases of the rotor above and below its axis. The disk drive is designed to convert the energy of electromagnetic interaction into mechanical work. If, when electric current I passes from one contact rail to another through the disk rotor, the magnetic flux of the magnetic circuit B above and below the axis of the disk rotor will have a mutually opposite direction, then a pair of Ampere forces will create a torque M on the disk rotor. Rotation of the disk rotor will lead to the movement of the contact rails in opposite directions at a speed V. This interaction mechanism can be used as the basis for both linear and rotary reversible electrical machines, including multi-stage ones.
EFFECT: simplifying the design and increasing the speed of movement of the movable element of the disk drive.
