FIELD: engineering equipment.
SUBSTANCE: prilling of urea, in particular the control of the prilling basket used in the urea processing. In the method of controlling the prilling basket, urea melt is fed into the basket (1), which vibrates under the action of a magnetostrictive device (2). Moreover, the vibration of the basket is regulated depending on the amount of urea melt subjected to prilling. A time-varying input signal (3) is obtained representing the flow rate of the urea melt supplied to the prilling basket. The first signal (5) and the second signal (6) are generated independently of each other as a function of the input signal (3). A third signal (10) is generated, the frequency of which is modulated by the first signal, and the magnitude is modulated by the second signal. The third signal is used to excite the magnetostrictive device (2).
EFFECT: vibration of the magnetostrictive vibrating prilling basket is precisely and continuously controlled depending on the amount of urea melt being processed in the basket itself.
