FIELD: medicine; surgical dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: electrode with an interlayer saturated with physiologic saline is inserted into a patient’s nostril from the side of the installed zygomatic implant passing through the maxillary sinus until the interlayer is brought into contact with the mucosa. Tampon is used as an interlayer. Electrode with a different polarity of electric current is connected directly to the above zygomatic implant. Electrode is placed in the patient’s nostril on the side of the involved zygomatic implant. Thereafter, the required current is provided from 5 mA to 15 mA. Sessions of electric therapeutic effect are performed 1–2 times day for 15–30 minutes during 10–15 days. At the beginning of each session 20–30% of the time, an electric exposure is carried out with a positive polarity of the electrode placed in the patient's nostril, and rest 70–80% of the time—at change of their polarity.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness in maxillary sinusitis.
