FIELD: medicine, surgical dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to stimulate osteogenesis and treat or prevent sinusitis. Treatment of patients who have a zygomatic implant installed through the maxillary sinus consists of installing electrodes connected to the poles of an external source of electrical current on the patient's body and applying electrical impulses of a certain current strength with a change in their polarity for a given period of time. One electrode is installed through a layer saturated with saline solution into the patient’s nostril, on the side where the zygomatic implant is installed, passing through the maxillary sinus. The second electrode is connected directly to the specified zygomatic implant and/or dental prosthesis installed on the implant through a through metal pin built into it, which has galvanic contact with the implant. For patients with a body weight of up to 75 kg, a current value of up to 5 mA is provided, and for patients with a body weight of more than 75 kg, a current value of up to 15 mA is provided. Electrical therapeutic sessions are carried out 1–2 times a day for 15–30 minutes for 10–15 days. At the beginning of each session, 20–30% of the time, electrical stimulation is carried out with the positive polarity of the electrode placed in the patient's nostril, and the remaining 70–80% of the time — when their polarity is changed.
EFFECT: method provides increased effectiveness of treatment and prevention of disease relapses, stimulation of osteogenesis and treatment or prevention of sinusitis.
