SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device and a method for releasing an indicator into a production well for measuring flow and monitoring inflow profiles in a wellbore during production. Indicator output system for an oil producing well contains at least one indicator output device intended for connection to the production string. Said device comprises, at least, one outlet, at least one indicator chamber, indicator material arranged in said indicator chamber and, at least, one valve. Indicator chamber is in fluid communication with the said at least one outlet hole. Valve is configured to selectively control fluid flow through said at least one outlet. Said at least one valve is configured to suspend said at least one indicator release device to increase concentration of indicator molecules in the volume of the fluid medium in the indicator chamber.

EFFECT: increasing concentration of the indicator molecules and their selective release without the need to suspend the well, controlling the effect on the indicator source with the produced fluid medium in order to prolong the life of the indicator in the well.
