FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to underwater navigation means, can be used to create quickly deployed hydroacoustic navigation systems of high accuracy using an ultrashort measuring base and is used to provide operation of autonomous and tethered unmanned underwater vehicles or other underwater technical facilities, determination of their location and control from board of support vessel. Disclosed is a system for accurate determination of coordinates of an underwater object based on measurements from a point with known coordinates of range and angular position of a source of navigation signals. System differs from known ones in that instead of harmonic single-frequency signals, wideband multifrequency signals with significantly higher energy are used, conventional direct time measurements, a procedure for calculating the full phases of a multifrequency signal is used with calculating time delays at each frequency and averaging time over all frequencies of the broadband signal, determination of bearing is based on statistical processing of difference of current measured time on all elements of antenna and expected time delays on these elements, characteristics of receiving antenna determined during antenna calibration.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring the angular position of a navigation object of a hydroacoustic navigation system with an ultrashort base when using an antenna with a small number of elements and an increased size of the measuring base.
