FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to underwater navigation, particularly to determination of underwater object coordinates. Proposed method uses hydroacoustic navigation system comprising navigation base consisting of M hydroacoustic transceivers with difference respond frequencies and hydroacoustic transceiver aboard the submarine that allows measuring signal propagation time intervals and converting signals into distance between submarine and hydroacoustic transceivers. In compliance with the proposed method, hydroacoustic transceivers are located on stations drifting on water surface. Submarine coordinates, relative to drifting station or the line of drifting stations, are determined in conditions with long and/or VHF base, and/or in combined conditions, i.e. long + VHF base, and/or in direction-finding system. Note here that receivers make two common-center navigation bases located in the plane parallel to that of submarine deck. Note also that axis of one base X is aligned with submarine axial line, while axis of another base is directed abeam to the right.
EFFECT: version of underwater object navigation method.
