FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave engineering and is intended for protection of input cascades of receivers. Microwave power limiter comprises a dielectric substrate, on one side of which there is a metal screen, and on the other one there are strip conductors forming band-pass filters of low-frequency and high-frequency channels. All three resonators of each filter are made of metal with high conductivity, at the same time the element in the central part of the middle resonator is made of high-temperature superconductor. U-shaped element is located between extreme resonators. Its configuration, as well as size are selected such that for the case when the element in the central part of the middle resonator is in the normal state, capacitive and magnetic interactions of the outermost resonators are mutually compensated at the central frequency of the operating band. In the open mode, communication between the outermost resonators is carried out through the middle resonator, as a result, two pass bands are formed. In the closed mode, the element in the central part of the middle resonator has low conductivity, the Q-factor of the middle resonator drops, which leads to limitation of the microwave power passing to the output.
EFFECT: simplified design of the device and reduction of its operation threshold.
