FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to creation of long-length composite wires based on superconducting compounds intended for manufacture of electrical products. A workpiece for producing a long superconducting wire based on Nb3Sn consists of a copper sheath, inside of which there is a copper matrix, in the centre of which there is a tin-containing rod, around which there are many rods in a copper sheath. In this case, the copper matrix is surrounded by a multilayer diffusion niobium barrier. The plurality of rods is composed of Nb-Ti alloy rods and Nb-Zr alloy rods. Each Nb-Zr alloy rod is a composite made of Nb-Zr alloy in the form of a rod surrounded by a niobium barrier.
EFFECT: high current-carrying capacity in a long superconducting composite wire based on Nb3Sn in magnetic fields with induction above 12 Tesla.
