FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in creation of composite wires based on superconducting compounds intended for manufacturing electrotechnical products. The technical result is achieved by manufacturing the superconducting composite wire based on Nb3Sn from a multi-fibre workpiece formed by placing multiple workpieces surrounded by a diffusion barrier in a pipe. Each workpiece therein has a copper casing, a tin-containing rod is placed in the centre of the workpiece, niobium-containing rods are arranged around said rod, each with a copper-containing shell. The niobium-containing rods are therein placed in a copper-containing matrix and divided into sectors by dividers, wherein the pipe and the diffusion barrier are made as a whole, and the inner surface of the diffusion barrier is coated with a thin layer of copper.
EFFECT: achieved value of relative residual resistance of a superconducting composite wire based on Nb3Sn greater than 150, ensuring the stability of operation of the magnetic system made of said wire.
