FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre-optic measuring instruments, in particular to sensors for dynamic measurement of vehicle parameters, and can be used to measure characteristics of vehicles in motion. Device includes at least two spaced apart optical fibres, each having at least one induced fibre Bragg grating (FBG). Sections of optical fibres with FBG are encapsulated in an elastically deformable substrate, the sensitive element additionally contains at least one optical fibre with at least one induced chirped fibre Bragg grating (CFBG). Section of the optical fibre with CFBG is encapsulated in an additional elastically deformable substrate, which is isolated from the effect of the mechanical load of the vehicle. Method includes installation of disclosed sensitive element (SE) of fibre-optic sensor in roadway, on which the investigated vehicle object is moving, SE irradiation with optical radiation of a broadband radiation source, recording the amplitude of the obtained signal and the time corresponding to the change in the amplitude of the obtained signal, and recording the reflected optical power.
EFFECT: simpler design, higher speed and accuracy of measurements.
