FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring (sensor) equipment, in particular to fiber-optic devices for measuring deformation, temperature, pressure and other physical quantities. Disclosed method of interrogating sensor elements of fiber Bragg gratings is characterized by that in optical fiber creating at least one fiber Bragg grating (FBG), to which light is directed from at least one radiation source, and the signal reflected from the FBG is transmitted to the radiation receiver, which then transmits it to the computer processor, in which by using the time-of-flight method, the distance to the resonated FBGs is determined. Changes in this distance are used to calculate change in temperature or tension at the point of FBG location.

EFFECT: simplification of the method operation with increase in the system polling speed and measurement accuracy in comparison with the prototype.
