SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer technology. Control method applied to a mobile phone includes: sending content of a first screen to a display device, wherein the current navigation function of the mobile telephone is a navigation function different from the three-key navigation function; receiving a first message sent by a display device, generated in accordance with a first operation acting on a virtual navigation key, which is generated by the display device in response to the fact that the current navigation function of the mobile telephone is a navigation function different from the three-key navigation function; performing a navigation function corresponding to the virtual navigation key in accordance with the first message, and adjusting the content of the first screen to the content of the second screen; and sending the content of the second screen to the display device to cause the display device to display the content of the second screen in the projection area of the screen.
EFFECT: fewer errors and broader functionalities when controlling a mobile telephone with a display device other than a mobile telephone.
