SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of the railway track superstructure maintenance, in particular to the ballast extraction device excavation chain hinge joints, the excavation chains containing such a joint, as well as to methods of making hinge joints links. Joint contains two links. First link comprises a solid element with two protrusions with through holes. Second comprises a solid element with a guide projection with a hole. Protrusion of the second link is inserted between the parallel protrusions of the first link. Hinge joint comprises a hinge rod inserted into the holes of the protrusions of the first and second links. Guide hole is reinforced with a bushing. One of the through holes of the protrusions of the first link has a flat section. Flat section interacts with the flat section of the hinge rod to prevent rotation of the rod relative to the solid element of the first link. Links are made by casting metal or liquid or paste-like alloy, preferably steel, into a mold.
EFFECT: longer useful life of excavation chain links.
