SUBSTANCE: invention relates to containers for consumer products. Containers according to the present invention find particular application as containers for aerosol-generating articles or components of aerosol-generating articles. Container (1) for consumer products comprises outer box (20) and inner pull-out tray (50) located inside outer box (20). Inner pull-out tray (50) at least partially covers the inner space for accommodating consumer products. Inner pull-out tray (50) is configured to slide relative to outer box (20) between a first position, in which the inner space of the inner pull-out tray (50) is not accessible to the user, and a second position in which the inner space of the inner pull-out tray (50) can be accessed by the user. When the inner pull-out tray (50) is in the first position in outer box (20), the edge of interacting valve (59) of the inner pull-out tray is configured to interact with the corresponding interacting element (31) on the outer box wall to form a locking mechanism to prevent the inner sliding tray (50) from sliding from the first position to the second position.

EFFECT: possibility of reducing the risk of accidental movement of the internal sliding tray from the closed position to the open position.
