FIELD: various technological processes; construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of construction materials based on liquid glass using production wastes — galvanic sludge and can be used in construction, machine building, transport and other industries. Method of producing heat-insulating material involves mixing in a ball mill wet grinding a mixture consisting of liquid glass with density of 1.30–1.50 g/cm3, aluminum sulphate solution with concentration of 24–26%, galvanic sludge with moisture content of 65–70%, until a homogeneous consistency is formed. Then the mixture is loaded into moulds and compacted on a press. After moulding, the articles are removed from the moulds and subjected to heat treatment in oven for 20–30 minutes at temperature of 320–350 °C, then cooled. Components are used at the following ratio, wt.%: liquid glass 20–24, aluminium sulphate solution 20–24, galvanic sludge — the rest.
EFFECT: simplified method of producing heat-insulating material, reduced duration of technological process, utilization of galvanic sludge.
