FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of construction materials, in particular to production of porous artificial articles, and can be used in production of, for example, heat-insulating fillings, as well as granulated heat-insulating material. In method of producing heat-insulating material based on liquid glass, including mixing components of mixture, their grinding and heat treatment, mixture of liquid glass with production wastes is used at the following ratio of components of the mixture, wt%: liquid glass with density of 1.30–1.50 g/cm3 42–58, spent solution of alkali solution etching of zinc alloy 22–38 and dump zinc-containing slag 20, from which metal iron is preliminary separated, said mixture is milled to particle size of 1–2 mm, then heat treatment is carried out in a "boiling bed" at temperature of 320–350 °C for 10–20 minutes.

EFFECT: simplification of technology, high strength of heat-insulating materials and use of production wastes for production thereof.
