COPOLYMERS OF ETHYLENE AND OCTENE WITH IMPROVED PROFILE OF PROPERTIES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC C08F4/6592 C08F210/16

Abstract RU 2816574 C1

FIELD: chemical or physical processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to copolymers of ethylene and 1-octene with improved characteristics. Disclosed is a copolymer of ethylene and 1-octene for producing a graft copolymer of ethylene and 1-octene, containing hydrolysable silane groups, characterized by density in range from 850 kg/m3 to 930 kg/m3, measured in accordance with ISO 1183-187, melt flow rate MFR2 (190 °C, 2.16 kg) in range from 0.3 g/10 min to 100 g/10 min, measured in accordance with ISO 1133, MFR10/MFR2 5.0–15.0, Mw/Mn 2.0–5.0, amount of 1.0 to less than 20 unsaturated vinyl links/100,000 carbon atoms, an amount of more than 5.0 to 35 unsaturated vinylidene links/100,000 carbon atoms, an amount of more than 5.0 to 30 unsaturated vinyl units/100,000 carbon atoms, an amount of more than 15.0 to 60 unsaturated trisubstituted units/100,000 carbon atoms, total number of 26 to 150 unsaturated links/100,000 carbon atoms, where the total number of unsaturated links/100,000 carbon atoms is the sum of the number of unsaturated vinyl links/100,000 carbon atoms, unsaturated vinylidene links/100,000 carbon atoms, unsaturated vinylidene links/100,000 carbon atoms and unsaturated trisubstituted links/100,000 carbon atoms, degree of unsaturation for types of unsaturation from e) to h) in accordance with formula (1), where degree of vinyl unsaturation is in range of 5.0 to 15.0%, degree of vinyl unsaturation is in range from 20.0 to 30.0% and where the sum of the degree of vinyl unsaturation and degree of vinylidene unsaturation is from at least 30.0% to 50.0%. Also disclosed is a method of producing said copolymer and use thereof to graft comonomer links containing hydrolysable silane groups thereon.

EFFECT: disclosed copolymers have improved characteristics, which enable to obtain a copolymer on their basis which is modified with hydrolysable silane groups.
