FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, in particular to the construction or repair of pipelines and is intended for gripping and screwing fiberglass pipes during repair or installation of main, process and field pipelines. Hinged grab for gripping and screwing fiberglass pipes comprises a housing with a clamping mechanism, roller clamps pressed by the clamping mechanism from opposite sides to the pipe, and a geared motor providing rotation of the pipe during turn-up, wherein the housing is a grab gripper comprising a clamping mechanism equipped with four arc-shaped drive clamps, hydraulic cylinder providing synchronous simultaneous clamping of clamps to outer surface of pipes, hydraulic system high pressure hoses, hydraulic motor-reducer, wherein on each leg there are rollers, sprockets covered with a chain, and the surface of the rollers is made with the right and left helical notches, which provide the possibility to compensate for the axial displacement during screwing.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of operation of device for gripping and screwing of fiberglass pipes due to optimization of labour for installation/dismantling of plastic pipes, higher safety of work, reducing the time for installation work when performing high-quality construction during the repair or installation of main, process and field pipelines.
