FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to drive various equipment and units in water. To create torque on the shaft, the shaft is fixed on the rotor, where the rotor is made in the form of a body of revolution and is placed in water. Rotor has vertically oriented channels; each rotor channel has an inlet hole located at the bottom of the rotor and an outlet hole located above the rotor. Channels are curved so that the outlet of each channel is displaced relative to the inlet by a certain angle backward relative to the direction of rotation of the rotor. From the bottom of the rotor into the inlet holes of the channels finely dispersed foam is supplied, which acts on inner walls of each channel so that the whole set of actions on inner walls of all channels creates a resultant torque on the shaft.
EFFECT: enabling wider field of application, since the presence of torque on the shaft can be used for various purposes, in particular, for propeller drive, for drive of various auxiliary tools and units.
