FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in rotary engines. The rotary detonation engine is comprised of a body, rotors (4), intake valves (9) for supplying a depleted fuel-air mixture, and exhaust valves (10) for removing the combustion products. The body is made in the form of two hollow cylinders interconnected with convergence of the axes thereof from 0.2 of the radius (R) to (R). Partitions divide the body into sections. Two shafts with rolling bearings located at the ends and in the middle of the apparatus are placed along the longitudinal axis of the body. The shafts are equipped with equal-tooth gears. The rotors (4) are made on the shafts in pairs in each of the sections and are comma-shaped. The blades of the rotors (4) are equal in length to the inner radius of the body. Each pair of rotors (4) is made on the shafts with a mutual offset by one to three teeth of the equal-tooth gears in each of the sections. The volume between the blades of the rotors (4) and the body forms floating combustion chambers. Cooling cavities are provided for cooling, extending under the body of the apparatus and in the partitions of the sections. The body is made of a material capable of withstanding ultra-high mechanical and thermal loads occurring during detonation combustion.
EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring combustion of the depleted fuel mixture using a detonation process.
