FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely to couplings. Double-mode electromagnetic spring-ball coupling contains a central axis, an annular electromagnet with a coil, an armature with return springs, input half-couplings of the first and second modes. Armature is movable in the axial direction under the action of the electromagnet in one direction and under the action of the force of return springs in the other direction. Return springs are arranged uniformly along the circumference and are made with the possibility of adjusting the force of the armature pressing to the support shaft by means of adjusting screws. Half-couplings are kinematically connected to output support shaft. At the same time transfer of torque from half-couplings of the first and the second mode to armature is performed through intermediate rolling bodies, which are evenly located along circumference in half-couplings of the first and second modes and in armature.
EFFECT: wider range of limiting operating speeds and transmitted torques.
