SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aeration of liquid media in any natural and artificial spaces: lake, pond, pool, well, etc., as well as sewage pumping stations, aeration tanks, settling ponds, etc. Aerator comprises housing in the form of a pipe arranged vertically in an object filled with water-containing liquid medium, a lower chamber and an upper chamber. Lower chamber is installed on the upper end of the pipe with the possibility of directing water-containing liquid medium from it into the pipe with formation of a waterfall and a turbulent flow of the medium. Upper chamber is installed above the lower chamber with the possibility of directing the water-containing liquid medium from it into the lower chamber through a plurality of holes at the bottom of the upper chamber. Aerator contains the first and the second pumps. First pump is configured to fill the lower chamber with a water-containing liquid medium from the object. Second pump is made with possibility of filling the upper chamber with water-containing liquid medium from the object.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of liquid oxygenation in the object filled with liquid medium.
