SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a central drum unit for tire building, a method of replacing the central drum unit of the central drum unit and a tire building drum. Central drum unit includes: drum flange; central drum unit having a mounting groove and a mounting hole; a first fastener movably located in the drum flange, capable of moving along the axial direction of the tire building drum and having a stepped surface, wherein the mounting groove is aligned with the first fastener when the central drum unit rests end-to-end against the drum flange along the tire building drum radial direction, and the central drum unit presses on the stepped surface and enables the first fastener portion to pass into the mounting groove; second fastener, section of which passes through the drum flange; when the first fastener section passes inside the mounting groove, the fastening hole is aligned with the second fastener, the central drum unit is located near the drum flange along the axial direction of the drum for tire building, and the section of the second fastener, open on the drum flange, passes inside the fastening hole.
EFFECT: providing replacement of a toothed unit of a drum flange without expenditures of time and efforts, which considerably increases efficiency of replacement.
