SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring devices. More specifically, to laser distance measuring devices used as a stand-alone device or with a smart phone. Disclosed is a system and method, comprising a laser measuring device for measuring distance, comprising a data interface for communication with a mobile communication and computing device; and a photodetector unit connected to each of the opposite sides of the laser measuring device, wherein the photodetector unit is designed to emit a plurality of laser beams, each of several laser beams is automatically emitted at different angles in relation to other laser beams, wherein several laser beams are used to calculate the perpendicular distance between two remote surfaces using a pyramidal triangulation method.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measurements.
