FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to methods of producing porous copper. Method of producing porous copper involves mixing copper powder with a porophore, pressing in a mould to obtain a workpiece, sintering the workpiece at temperature of 850–900 °C, sintered material cooling. Powder of eggshell is used as porophore in amount of 8–12 wt. %, pressing is performed with force of 400 MPa to obtain a workpiece, which is heated in furnace to temperature of 850–900 °C and held at this temperature for 15–20 minutes.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain foamed copper with homogeneous porosity in the entire volume of material of 60–80 %, pore size of 10–50 mcm and compression strength of 180–320 kgf/cm2.
