FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to methods for aluminium foam. It can be used in construction, aircraft, automotive, shipbuilding and elevator industries. The aluminium alloy powder is mixed with an eggshell powder blowing agent and cold pressed to form a billet. The workpiece is heated by induction to a temperature of 10-20°C below the formation temperature of the most fusible eutectic of the workpiece material, kept at this temperature for 5-7 min in argon and cooled in air.
EFFECT: aluminium foam with a compressive strength of 100-140 kgf/cm2.
