APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFECTIVENESS OF BIOPREPARATIONS FOR DESTRUCTION OF FAT-CONTAINING WASTES IN SEWAGE SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC C12Q1/00 C12M1/00 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2818717 C1

FIELD: biotechnology; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and can be used in determining the most active version of a consortium of lipophilic bacteria for a biopreparation, as well as calculation of application rate of biopreparation for destruction of fat-containing wastes in microaerophilic conditions of sewage system of treatment facilities of food and chemical industries. Apparatus for evaluating the effectiveness of biopreparations for the destruction of fat-containing wastes in a sewage system consists of series-connected, fastened by clamps, straight pipes, tees and sewer elbows forming bends at rate of 1 bend per 5 l of water, a pipeline located in three planes. Supply pump with a timer is connected to the lowest point of the pipeline by means of a rubber sealing coupling, which supplies liquid through a circulation channel connected by means of a rubber sealing coupling to a tee located in close proximity to the highest point of the pipeline, which is equipped with a removable plug. Method for assessing the effectiveness of biopreparations consists in the fact that tap water and a source of fat are successively introduced into the said apparatus; a water-fat mixture is circulated for 24 hours; the analysed biopreparation is added. For 10 days with frequency of 1 time in 48 hours, samples are taken through a hole closed with a removable plug at the highest point of the pipeline during operation of the supply pump with a timer, pH, temperature, total number and prevailing morphotypes of microorganisms are measured. At the end of the experiment, fat residues in the water fraction are drained and concentrated. Presence and size of fat-containing deposits are evaluated, combined residues of fat-containing deposits are extracted and weighed, in which acid number and peroxide number are analysed, and then forming a conclusion on the effectiveness of the analysed biopreparation based on the estimated parameters.

EFFECT: expansion of the arsenal of means for creation of laboratory conditions, simulating microaerophilic conditions of sewage system of treatment facilities of food and chemical industry enterprises, containing fat-containing wastes, as well as providing the possibility of assessing the effectiveness of biopreparations for the destruction of fat-containing wastes in a sewage system in laboratory conditions.
