FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a probiotic composition with a higher synbiotic effect compared to the effect of the probiotic alone, containing an effective amount of galactooligosaccharides (GOS) and containing the galCDEGR (A) operon of probiotic bacteria. Also disclosed is use of said composition for probiotic therapy by increasing production of total amount of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) and/or lactate and/or reduced production of ammonium in the gastrointestinal tract of the subject and a method for increasing the probiotic therapeutic effect as compared to the effect of the probiotic alone in the composition with increased synbiotic effect, containing GOS and containing the galCDEGR (A) operon probiotic bacteria.
EFFECT: invention provides intensification of the synbiotic effect of probiotic bacteria and GOS.
