SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nutritional composition for infants or young children. The use of a nutritional composition for infants or young children is proposed, including a probiotic Bifidobacterium animalis of the lactis species, to stimulate or induce intestinal microbiota that is similar to microbiota of infants fed exclusively with human breast milk, compared with microbiota of infants fed mainly with a traditional nutritional composition that does not include the specified probiotic, in infants or young children from 0 to 36 months, optionally from 0 to 12 months. The specified stimulation or induction of intestinal microbiota, which is similar to microbiota of infants fed exclusively with human breast milk, is additionally characterized by stimulation or induction of intestinal microbiota having a phylogenetic distance to microbiota of breastfed infants of less than 0.3 units (measured by the Unifrac method), preferably less than 0.25 units. In this case, the specified probiotic Bifidobacterium animalis of the lactis species is CNCM I-3446.

EFFECT: use of a nutritional composition according to the above-mentioned purpose ensures healthy intestinal flora in infants or young children.
