FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measurements, which are performed by means of fiber Bragg gratings. Method includes the following steps: introducing the light pulse through the light source into an optical waveguide in order to poll the first and second groups of optical elements by means of performing a wavelength sweep throughout the pulse period. And optical elements within each group have different wavelengths in the medium. First and second groups are time-separated in such a way that the first time window, during which the light is reflected from the optical elements in the first group and reaches the receiver, does not overlap with the second time window, during which the light is reflected from the optical elements in the second group and reaches the receiver. Wavelength sweep is completed for a period shorter than the forward and backward travel times for light, which is reflected from the optical element in the first group, which is furthest from the light source for reaching the receiver. Reflected light is processed in order to determine one or more parameters corresponding to the optical elements.
EFFECT: preventing overlapping of reflections, which are received from different matrices of optical sensors.
