FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal working and can be used for cutting edges for welding on ends and longitudinal edges of aluminium rods of anode holders of electrolytic cells for production of aluminium by electrolytic method. Multi-spindle edge milling machine comprises bed, workpiece feed mechanism and at least two milling heads with rotation drive. Machine is equipped with a control system with a set of sensors and a workpiece tilting mechanism, which is made with the possibility of turning the workpiece around its longitudinal axis. Machine is made with provision of sequential automatic processing by milling heads on fixed workpiece at first two lower longitudinal edges, then two vertical end edges, then two upper longitudinal edges, and after automatic tilting of workpiece by tilting mechanism, two remaining vertical end edges of workpiece.
EFFECT: cutting edges for welding on rectangular or square bar-type parts of four longitudinal edges of a certain length from the end face and four edges on the end face.
