FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical engineering, to nonlinear frequency converters (FC) of laser radiation (LR). Method of measuring angles of FC crystal tuning to provide phase synchronism includes the following steps: crystal is fixed vertically in a calibrated mechanized frame, which allows the crystal to be rotated at microangles, crystal is irradiated with pulse-periodic radiation with a narrow parallel beam, absolute angles of adjustment to maximum synchronism are measured relative to direction of incident LR, performing multiple measurement of energy of LR incident on the crystal and energy converted to the second harmonic after the crystal for each angle of rotation using synchronized CCD-cameras, efficiency of conversion to the second harmonic is determined as a value which is inversely proportional to the average value of the ratio of the measured energy of the first harmonic at the input of the crystal in a square to the energy of the converted second harmonic at the output of the crystal.
EFFECT: measurement of absolute angles of tuning to maximum synchronism relative to direction of incident radiation of non-optimized crystals of frequency converter.
