FIELD: power conversion, in particular, conversion of solar energy into electromagnetic waves of microwave bandwidth or to alternating or direct current, design of powerful filtering microwave amplifiers and microwave laser pumping oscillators. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposition of converting medium to light which is modulated in time by oscillations of constant frequency in radio or lower bandwidth so that frequency spectrum of modulated optical light for each carrier frequency of source non- modulated light corresponds to multiple frequencies which differ by constant modulation width value. Said converting medium is non- linear medium which has no inversion center and which runs conversion of modulated optical light by means of generation of electromagnetic oscillations or waves of radio or lower bandwidth. Said medium is transparent for both optical light and for frequencies of electromagnetic oscillations which are generated there. Converted power of electromagnetic waves of radio or lower bandwidth are accumulated using at least one electromagnetic resonator which resonance frequency is equal to frequency of generated electromagnetic oscillations and is equal to or is multiple of modulation frequency. Harmonics of modulated optical light and generated electromagnetic waves which power is accumulated using said at least one resonator interact in this medium in synchronism.
