FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an adjustable implantable throttle for controlling the flow rate in implanted drains for the removal of cerebrospinal fluid, in particular, to a hydrocephalic valve, for discharge of fluid from a patient’s ventricular system. Adjustable implantable throttle for control of flow rate in implanted drains for drainage of cerebrospinal fluid, wherein at least one effective length of at least one channel is adjustable, wherein the effective length is the length over which the cerebrospinal fluid actually flows. Throttle has at least two states, through and adjustment, wherein in the through state the adjustment disc does not contact the channel boundaries, and in the adjustment state the adjustment disc rests against the channel boundaries.
EFFECT: throttle can be cleaned, washed and/or inspected in a through state; in addition, the through state does not depend on the adjustment state; this simplifies maintenance of the adjustable throttle.
