FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of making a fiber reinforcing frame for carbon-carbon brake discs, comprising laying fibrous layers of the reinforcing material of the frame on a plate, feeding fibrous reinforcing material through needle punching device and needle punching, wherein the layers of the fibrous reinforcing material of the frame are made of an equal-density carbon fabric with a surface density of 200 to 800 g/cm2 of linen or twill weaving 2/2, which are laid out in layers; wherein the layers of the equal-density carbon fabric are oriented relative to each other with a turn of the previous one through angle of 0° to 90°; and needle puncturing is performed with layer-by-layer duplication of each layer of equal-density carbon fabric with depth of puncturing of 5–40 mm and density of puncturing of 20–100 puncture/cm2, wherein the degree of needle-punching of the stitching threads providing the entangling of the layers of the equal-density carbon fabric is from 2 to 15 % of the total volume of the layers of the equal-density carbon fabric.
EFFECT: creation of strength and balance of fibrous reinforcing frame, preservation of structure of carbon-carbon composite materials and improvement of physical and mechanical characteristics of reinforcing frame of brake disc.
